An Interview:
Q: How did the writing of this book come about? JR: At fifty years of age I realized that I was in the midst of a metamorphosis of spirit as I watched the approaching end of a twenty-eight-year marriage and the dissolution of a business that I had dumped my heart and soul into. I found that I was beginning to step out onto an uncharted personal and spiritual path at a time when my peers were beginning to consider retirement. Looking for, but not finding, a book to help with what I was going through I made a vow to write one in the hopes of helping others who found themselves where I once was. Q: Have you always had an interest in matters of spirituality and metaphysics? JR: Yes-Absolutely! Although when I was growing up I don't recall those exact names being used like they are today. As a young boy I read every book about "fringe science" subjects that I could get my hands on. Q: What about the exercises found at the end of each chapter? JR: The exercises that I included at each chapter's end are the same exercises that I used (and continue to use) to help me get through some very difficult times. They help in the development of the "new self" as the reorientation process continues. All of the exercises are designed to help gain new insights regarding one's-self. Q: How did you come up with the title of your book? JR: I was at the midway point of the project and as I was reflecting upon my life up to that time, I could see the point where everything kind of fell apart. (When the Wheels Fall Off) and how I had grown emotionally as well as spiritually from my ordeals and triumphs (The Metamorphosis of a New Age Man). Q: What are your other interests? JR: I am an ordained Spiritual Minister and a Reiki practitioner. I'm interested in alternative energy healing modalities for the physical, spiritual, mental and emotional bodies. In my spare time I enjoy playing the Native American flute as well as jazz guitar. I also enjoy working in my garden.
